Random post about axolotls + the possibility of starting a youtube channel soon?

This is really random and deviates away from the history theme of this blog, but then again, everything that I've posted recently does. In fact, Aspen's guestposts were more relevant than mine (the first crusade version was my favourite. Deus Vult! Ave Maria! No Nobis Domine!)  Sorry to everyone who followed because they were expecting legit serious posts about history and Mexica things!

Cute creatures that I want as pets!

Alright, so I'm going to start off with something that DOES vaguely have to do with Mexica things. Here is a gif of an axolotl.

AWWWWWWWWW LOOOK HOW CUTe IT iS *SCCREEEEEEEEEEEAMS*

The axolotl is also known by name "Mexican walking fish" and is SupER CutE. It is an amphibian that is closely related to the salamander. Sadly, this creature is in danger of going extinct. There are more axolotls today in captivity than in the wild. A survey done in 2008 had found 100 axolotls per square kilometer in the Lake Xochimilco habitat. BUT NOW THEY'RE ALL DEAD.

Want to know something c00L about Lake Xochimilco? The place is a UNESCO world heritage site because it was once a very important agricultural center of the Mexica/Aztecs!
>the feels when you've always wanted to go to Mexico

RRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPpppppppppPPPPPPPPpppp

Aspen has managed to make me obsessed with sneks too, so I also really want a pet snake. Snakes are sooooo cooool because they were such important creatures in so many mythologies! One of my Danish internet friends who I met on DeviantArt 5 years ago drew a really really epic drawing once that had both Quetzalcoatl and Jormungandr in it! At that time, I wasn't really obsessed with Norse mythology, or I would have appreciated it a lot more... but I did think the Quetz was epic!

Wait I managed to find a blurry af version of the drawing:
It was one of her most popular works. I hope she doesn't mind that I'm sharing it. She deleted her DA account though so I can't even give her proper credit :( .

It's sooooOOO beauTiFuL omg

I also think that sneks are really affection8 pets and majestic af.

Currently, I have 2 cats. But one of my German internet friends had lots of cats and snakes and kept them all together and they got along fine so maybe I'll be okay. I'll probably get a really small breed and nothing too exotic, perhaps a garter snake.

All Aspen has are a bunch of sea monkeys and she's obsessed with foxes but she probably can't keep them. They make terrible pets and it's not good to keep wild animals in captivity anyway. I feel her though because I used to really want a pet bat but bats get really terrified in captivity and rarely survive more than a year, so I guess I'll stick to cats and tiny sneks! Perhaps I will get some sea monkeys like Aspen!

This is a list of animals that should not be kept as pets. Some types of sneks, as well as fockses and bats have made the list! Beware!

By the way, should I start a YOUTUBE CHANNEL?

I do currently have a youtube channel. But it's a really stupid one I use to upload things for school projects or Agar.io gaming sessions... or 7 second pieces of trash like this that don't deserve to exist:

I made that to annoy Dral while we were doing a project on Slavic mythology!

But I want to make a NEW youtube channel that will actually have legit educational videos to go up there with the greats like Crash Course or Extra Credits.

I don't have an animation studio or the video editing skillz though. I mean, I couldn't even run a successful webcomic :( but maybe I could get squad people like Dral or Bren or Aspen or Vickyish to help me out.

My webcomic on Serbian nationalism was supposed to change the world! Instead it did absolutely NOTHING but annoy Aspen a lot!

Oh welp.

My new years resolution was to be less annoying to my internet friends and to focus more on my writing, but hey, if I have time, I'm definitely going to start a youtube channel. It doesn't have to be fancy. I could start small.

Also, I think it's time for this blog to get a new layout and colour scheme or something like that, so I'll be trying things out. In the mean time, have fun!

That's all folks!

Just finished watching Axis Powers Hetalia!!

That was the best show I have ever watched in my life.... and the funniest too.

So, Hetalia is an anime (Japanese animation). However, most anime fans consider Hetalia a disgrace to anime. To me however, it is the best anime and the funniest show of all time. Each episode is only 5 minutes long (this includes the ending theme song and credits) and I was so addicted to it that I would watch 10 episodes a day, maybe even more. I watched it in Japanese with English subtitles, because dubs are for noobs.

What it's about

Hetalia is a show where every country is a character. In addition to this, the first two seasons are known as 'axis powers' and are set during WW2, with the three main characters being Italy, Japan, and Germany. Mostly Italy though.... that's why the title of the anime is 'Hetalia' which means 'useless Italy'. So as you can see, this could be taken as an offensive and controversial anime. However, it somehow manages to make a comedy out of the bloodiest war ever. That being said, if you are very patriotic about your country it may offend you. But it isn't meant to be offensive in any way. They make fun of all the countries in the show, allies or axis. They also say positive things about everyone at some point. Also, it's stereotypes not history.... don't watch it for the history, watch it for the comedy.  Most people will tell you to watch the English dub, but remember that the English dub doesn't follow the exact same plot. The American version/English dub is far more racist, less cute, etc. This is why I'd recommend the Japanese version with subtitles. The voice acting is great in both though so you won't miss out if you watch the Japanese version. Also, there is no central plot line. Each episode has a different plot and sometimes they jump into the past or future and don't always stick to the WW2 timeline.

The Fanbase
Hetalia has a huge fanbase on Deviantart. Start here: http://hetalia-union.deviantart.com/

The Characters
Here is what I think about each character.

North Italy is shown as a weakling.

Germany is very manly.

And I ship them so hard.

Japan is very quiet compared to Italy and Germany.

Onto the allies, Murica is very arrogant and I don't like him. He always calls himself a hero but he sucks.

England's eyebrows are very thick and he is usually high on opium.

France is hot. My second favorite character.

China is one of the only female characters.....
And she has a pet panda.

Russia is shown as a silent killer in the show. He seems very innocent but is always plotting to kill someone IDK why they showed him like this.

Canada always has to send aid to the countries that Murica messes up and some countries bother Canada because they mistake him for Murica. However, Canada has a pet polar bear and likes maple syrup.

Central Europe now.... Austria is so classy and is a great musician. Bulgaria is good too.

In the picture above we can see (from left to right) France, Prussia, Spain. Spain ruins it, but France and Prussia are so hawt.

PRUSSIA:

So Hetalia does have some countries in it that do not exist anymore such as the Holy Roman Empire and Prussia.

You will cry and wish that these countries still existed when you watch the anime.

Stuff to hate about Hetalia
This is hard for me to say as I absolutely loved it. But there are some flaws with Hetalia. For example, the majority of the characters are blond. This means the majority of the characters are white. This is a problem. The only African country in it was Egypt. I would've loved to see India or Pakistan in it. Oh, and they didn't have Mexico or any South American country.

HOW COULD THEY NOT HAVE MEXICO?!?!?!? WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS TO ME!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!
However, I've only seen axis powers so far so I guess that's why it wouldn't have been a good idea to include irrelevant countries to the WW2 theme :/

Hopefully Mexico will appear in the world series.

Dehydration lyrics video on youtube

So if you saw my last post, it contained the dehydration song noteflight version.

This song is now on youtube.

Can't embed it for some reason so here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYi2vXuI6J4&list=LLT2Zdfk9OQ_9Di3_HqUsxAQ&index=1

PS: I promise I'll do a 'legit' post soon. Winter break is coming up and I'll have time to do a non-dehydration related post! Lol. Thank you, bye!!

awesome school assignment & canadian history

Angelique & the Burning of Montreal

So what do you see in this painting?! You'll notice the girl and the fire and the background. The girl's name is Marie Joseph Angelique. She was a black slave in Montreal, Canada. She was born in Portugal and her mistress wanted to send her to the West Indies. She often menaced her mistress and was known to be rude and outspoken. It is said that she loved a man named Claude Thibault (a white man), who later ditched her.

Now you're probably wondering about that terrible fire. Many people think that Angelique set the fire. There were so many fires in both Montreal and Quebec city that this case is usually considered very insignificant, even though it burned down a hospital and 45 houses. Most historians simply accept the fact that the court found Angelique guilty. They had her hanged and her body was burned.

However, as people who studied New France became more interested in the daily life of its residents, Angelique got more attention because she was a woman and because she was black. New France was usually thought of as a homogeneous society, but when we explore the case of Angelique, there seems to be a tension among the society.

On the eve of the fire, Angelique was with a girl named Marie. She was a slave girl too, an aboriginal one. Angelique said "My mistress and the city will not sleep in their homes." Or at least that's what Marie claimed Angelique said, who later filed as a witness to Angelique's crime.

During the fire, many people escaped and took refuge in a garden near the hospital. Angelique was sleeping there with some knives, scissors, and belongings that she managed to save from the fire. While she slept, a public rumor was going around town saying that Angelique had set the fire.

So she was rudely awakened and arrested based on the public rumor. However, no one could find enough evidence that she actually set the fire. None of the witnesses, including Marie, had claimed to actually see her start the fire.

The court was about to let her go free when a 5-year-old child was brought fourth. The little girl claimed that she had seen Angelique set the fire.

This was enough for the court to execute Angelique. (How could they believe a child though?!) O.o

Before she was hanged and her body was burnt, she was put under torture. Angelique said she set the fire but she didn't give away the names of any partners in crime.

That's just a briefing of the case. Read more about it here on the Canadian mysteries website.

Some people think she didn't set the fire. Others saw it as a brave attempt to escape slavery. But was she actually trying to rebel against slavery or just trying to avoid being set to the west Indies?!

and what about Claude Thibault?! Could he have had something to do with it too?!

For an awesome school assignment that we had, we had to make monologues about this case stating our opinion. We investigated lots of documents which were found on the Canadian mysteries website that I mentioned.

The position I chose to take was that she was one of Canada's first black heroes. I think she tried to rebel against slavery. My monologue sucks though. But if you want to read it here it is: Link to a monologue by me about Angelique .

Jonathan's Monologue

This is the monologue that beats all monologues....

My friend, Jonathan, deserves an A+++++++++++ on this project. See for yourself.... he even made a video:

He put in a lot of work.

How do these people do it?!

Right.... so....
Some people may point out that this video is new agerish. Well, it sort of is..... just a little bit though.

Ok so I'm not sure what the song is called but I know that it's in Runasimi (Quechua) the language of the Incas.

See this video on Youtube and scroll down and click on 'about' then 'show more'. It should give you lyrics, information and even a translation.

Here's the video:

What fascinates me about this is
1. the singer's voice O.o
2. the pretty Nican tlaca (indigenous stuff) O.o
3. & the awesome musical instruments

the first time I watched it I wuz like

wow
such Runasimi

Seriously, the song sounds so mysterious and awesome. What do you think?!
